Hello and Welcome! My name is Jennell Diaz (Higgs) and this will be my second season coaching the HP Stingrays. Although new to the team, I have over 20 years of experience as a competitive age-group swimmer, collegiate swimmer (Adams State University, CO), age-group coach, and lifeguard/swim instructor. Originally from New Mexico, I started swimming competitively at the age five with my local summer league team, the Socorro Stingrays. At the age of nine my sister and I joined the nearest USA Swimming team, Kirtland Aquatic Club, over 70 miles away. For nearly 10 years, our family made the commute and dedicated our lives to the sport we loved. My love for the water continued through college, and in 2014 I became the first member of the newly established Adams State Women’s Swim Team to swim all four years of the program and graduate. My excitement and love for the water is apparent still today and I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge with our athletes, and their families.
