SWIM LESSONS FOR NON-MEMBERS - Session I (10:00am)
THIS LESSON REGISTRATION IS FOR NON-MEMBERS OF THE HPSTC.

All lessons are being offered in group format. Lessons run for two weeks, Monday through Friday, and are 45 minutes in length.
Swim lesson fee:
- HPSTC member fee: $150
- Non-member fee: $225
*Payments by debit or credit card are due at the time of registration. There is a $3 per athlete (per calendar year) fee. Also a 3% processing fee for credit card payments. There is no fee for debit card charges.
Group descriptions are as follows:
Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills: Students will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it. Swimmers learn basics of swimming: bobbing, going under water, supported front and back floating, supported rolling over from front to back and back to front, supported gliding , supported flutter kick, supported front crawl arms and jumping in. Level 1 is for children ages 3 and up.
Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills: Children will learn basic swimming skills. Swimmers will work on: independent front and back floating , independent rolling over from front to back and back to front, independent front and back glides, front crawl arms and kicks, back crawl arms and kicks, retrieving underwater objects, and jumping into water over their head. Level 2 is conducted in the shallow end of the pool, allowing children to touch, with the hope of getting comfortable in deeper water. Level 2 is typically for children ages 5 and up. Children who are younger and able to float on their back and have completed level 1, should register for level 2. Children who are in this age group and have completed level 2, should register for level 3.
Level 3: Stroke Development: Swimmers should already be comfortable swimming front stroke and swimming on their back. Swimmers will work on: gliding, freestyle with side breathing, backstroke, breast stroke and dolphin kicks, retrieving objects in deeper water, treading water, jumping into deep water and compact dives. Level 3 is for children who have mastered level 2 and are ready to learn swimming techniques. They are able to swim independently.
Level 4: Stroke Improvement: Swimmers should already be able to: swim front and back crawl 25 yards. Swimmers will work on: rotary breathing, freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke, scissors kick and sidestroke, whip kick and breaststroke, intro to turning at wall, treading water with modified scissors, and diving in kneeling position. *levels 3/4 may be grouped together based on group size, instructor availability, and swimmer ability
